Return To 'Twin Peaks' With New Main Title Sequence, Featurettes, And More

It’s hard to imagine a more anticipated TV revival than “Twin Peaks,” the quirky crime thriller that ran for two seasons in the early ’90s and followed idiosyncratic FBI agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) as he investigated the murder of Laura Palmer in the strange Washington town. The series defied genre — it was part mystery, often very funny, had supernatural elements, and was also a bit of a soap opera spoof — adding up to something that was completely original and what we consider now to be quintessential David Lynch. Well, the show returned last night, and it’s going to dominate the watercooler conversation all day.

While there’s much to discuss, let’s start with the evocative new opening credits which you can see below. The music may be the same, but the imagery lets us know that Lynch will have some new tricks up his sleeve. Next, you can start your day with come coffee and listen to “Shadow” by Chromatics, which was featured during the debut last night. Lastly, you can dive into a three-part featurette about the phenomenon the series birthed.

See you next Sunday.
