Robert Pattinson Knows What He'll Do If 'The Batman' Fails: "Art House Porn"

Just because you’re an A-list actor, that doesn’t mean you’ll automatically succeed in a superhero role. Just ask Ben Affleck. Not only did he strike out with “Daredevil,” but he’d probably not like to remember that whole “Batman v Superman”/”Justice League” fiasco. So, with Robert Pattinson lined up to make the leap into superheroes with “The Batman,” there’s definitely no guarantee this is all going to work out.

But according to a new interview with The Guardian, Pattinson has a backup plan if this whole superhero nonsense doesn’t work the way he intends.

“Porn,” he said. “But art house porn.”

Clearly, the acclaimed actor is making light about the situation, as it doesn’t appear that he’d have to immediately jump into porn after “The Batman.” That is, unless he really wants to. We’re sure there’s going to be an audience for it, even if it does tend to lean into the “art house” side of things and likely won’t just be Pattinson dressing up as a pizza delivery boy.

That being said, the joke does have a bit of truth to it, in the sense that Pattinson realizes that there’s a ton of expectations and pressure that come with taking on the role as the world’s most popular superhero. So, with stakes that high, why would he even bother?

“I felt a connection to it, I don’t know why,” Pattinson said. “I just really wanted it.”

As for all the questions that have already been asked about “The Batman” when he’s not even begun filming for it, it appears that Pattinson is a bit over it already.

“I’m already remembering what it’s like to talk about a movie where there’s an expectation,” he said. “Whenever you say anything, people are like, ‘Argh! You idiot!’ Like, dude, I haven’t even started yet!”

Unfortunately for Pattinson, it would appear that the questions about Matt Reeves’ ‘Batman’ film are going to be pretty nonstop for the next year and a half, as the film isn’t set to be released until June 25, 2021.
