Got a Tip?

Ron Howard To Direct J.J. Abrams Produced Supernatural Drama ‘All I’ve Got’

nullAs a director, J.J. Abrams has already proven his bonafides with two franchise bearing his stamp — "Star Trek" and "Mission: Impossible" — and shown that he can also deliver original blockbuster material ("Super 8") to equal success. And as a producer, his stature grows day by day with a number of hit TV shows under his belt ("Lost," "Fringe") and films as well, including his own, "Morning Glory" and "Cloverfield." And in that role, he’s used his clout to get a big-name director on board for a supernatural drama his Bad Robot shingle is shepherding.

Vulture reports that Ron Howard is now attached to direct "All I’ve Got," a remake of the largely unknown 2003 Israeli TV movie, "Kol Ma She’Yesh Li." The original was written and directed by Margalit Keren, who also penned episodes of a show called "Be’Tipul." Never heard of it? You might know it better under it’s American remake name, "In Treatment." That’s right, the HBO show. As for "All I’ve Got," it boasts a pretty interesting little premise. The story centers on a young, in-love couple who get into a car accident where the man is killed. The woman moves on, marries, has three children, but 50 years later when she faces her own end, she’s given the choice of reliving her first love or sitting around waiting for her second husband to die.

The project is set up at Paramount, and there’s no word yet on who’s penning the movie, but we had heard about two years ago that Sarah Polley was being courted to pen the film, but turned it down. As for if/when this get made, Howard as always has a number of options on projects to tackle following this fall’s racing drama "Rush" so we’ll see where this ends up on his slate.
