‘Seven Stages’ Trailer: Taika Waititi Is A Suicide Cult Leader In This Offbeat Comedy

Would you follow the instructions of Taika Waititi if he asked you to draw a spiral on your forehead, break into someone’s house, jump in their bathtub, and then slice your throat? The common answer is likely “no,” but there are probably a few big fans of “Jojo Rabbit” that would give it a second of thought. And in “Seven Stages to Achieve Eternal Bliss,” there are quite a few that follow the suicidal words of Waititi.

As seen in the new trailer for the film, ‘Seven Stages’ tells the story of a young couple that moves into a new apartment but quickly finds out that the property is often broken into by deluded cult followers that venture to the bathroom to commit suicide. You see, they believe that the special bathtub will help them achieve enlightenment, as per the teachings of their leader, who killed himself the exact same way previously.

The film stars Kate Micucci, Sam Huntington, Dan Harmon, Mark McKinney, Rhea Seehorn, and, of course, Taika Waititi. ‘Seven Stages’ is directed by Vivieno Caldinelli, based on a script from writers Christopher Hewitson, Justin Jones, and Clayton Hewitson.
