As seen in the new trailer for “TÁR,” the film follows the story of Lydia Tár, one of the world’s most renowned composers. However, buried under that genius is a dark secret. Actually, various dark secrets, which threaten her career. As you might expect, as the tension builds, Tár begins to unravel.

Joining Blanchett in the cast are Noémie Merlant, Nina Hoss, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Mark Strong. The film is written and directed by Todd Field. “TÁR” marks the first feature from Field since 2006’s “Little Children.” That film earned Field an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Previous to that, he earned Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay for his 2011 film, “In the Bedroom.” Many are expecting multiple Academy Award nominations for his upcoming film, as it is one of the current front-runners as we approach awards season.
