The most unlikely secret agent dad in streaming is back. After the first film became a surprise hit for Apple TV+, Mark Wahlberg returns for more high-stakes family bonding in “The Family Plan 2,” a globe-trotting action comedy that turns domestic dysfunction into full-blown international chaos.

This time, it’s the holidays, and Dan (Wahlberg) has planned the perfect overseas getaway for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids — until a mysterious figure from his past, played by Kit Harington, shows up with unfinished business. What begins as a cozy family vacation quickly escalates into a high-speed, bullet-filled cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, complete with heists, hijinks, and heartwarming family feuds.
Directed by Simon Cellan Jones and written by David Coggeshall, the sequel leans into everything that made the original a streaming hit: fast cars, faster quips, and a surprisingly emotional core about balancing danger and domesticity. The cast also includes Zoe Colletti, Van Crosby, Peter Lindsey, Theodore Lindsey, and Reda Elazouar.
Produced by David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger for Skydance Media, alongside Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson through Municipal Pictures, “The Family Plan 2” looks to double down on the family-sized action spectacle. John G. Scotti also produces, with Cellan Jones and Coggeshall serving as executive producers.
The first film drew strong viewership and solidified Wahlberg’s partnership with Apple after the success of “The Family Plan” and “Arthur the King.” If this trailer is any indication, the sequel expands the scope while keeping the same mix of humor, heart, and high-octane absurdity that fueled the original’s popularity.
“The Family Plan 2” will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on November 21, 2025.
