'Thor 3' Hammers Down Writers, Matthew Goode Meets For 'Batman Vs. Superman' & More

Thor: The Dark World

While Marvel is starting to branch out their cinematic universe with “Guardians Of The Galaxy” this summer, and “Ant-Man” in 2015, that doesn’t mean they’re abandoning the staples. Earlier this week, the ball got rolling on “Captain America 3” with directors Anthony and Joe Russo tapped to return, and that’s not all the news Marvel had. Variety reports that the comic studio have re-upped Christopher Yost and tapped Craig Kyle (“X-Men: Evolution,” “Hulk Vs.“) to co-write “Thor 3.”

Between this and the new Captain America flick, you might think Marvel is setting the stage for another “The Avengers,” but according to Unleash The Fanboy (yeah, we know) the Phase 4 superhero team-up movie will actually be “New Avengers” though it’s unclear what heroes will be involved (in the comics they included Spider-Man and Wolverine, but since those rights are elsewhere, it’s unlikely to happen). Anyway, you can toss around your thoughts below and check out a deleted scene from “Thor: The Dark World” while you’re at it.

In other geeky news: Comic Book Movie is reporting that Matthew Goode has met for a role in “Batman Vs. Superman.” That’s it. No word on the part, but he was in Zack Snyder‘s “Watchmen,” so there’s that. Lastly, Movies.com reports that Josh Gad is Fox‘s choice to play The Thing in “Fantastic Four,” though nothing is confirmed, and they’re still meeting with lots of other people for the part. And while Josh Trank has apparently denied this rumor, and Josh Gad has also squashed it, they are sticking by their sources.
