'True Things' Trailer: Ruth Wilson And Tom Burke Star In A Waking Nightmare Of Lust & Bad Decisions

Originally premiering at the Venice Film Festival in 2021, “True Things” starring Ruth Wilson (“Luther,” “The Affair”) and Tom Burke (“The Souvenir,” “Mank”) is finally coming out in the U.S. this fall. Written and directed by Harry Wootliff, “True Things” tells the story of Kate played by Wilson, a girl who sleepwalks through life when an encounter with a stranger awakens her.

Wootliff is best known for her work on the 2018 film “Only You,” starring Laia Costa. Wootliff debuted her short film “Nits” back in 2004 at the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight. She then went on to be BAFTA nominated and won the BFI London Film Festival Classic Short Film Competition.

Along with Wilson and Burke, in the lead roles, “True Things also features “Call The Midwife” star Hayley Squires, “Line of Duty” actress Elizabeth Rider, Frank McCusker (“Hunger”), Ann Firback (“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”), and Tom Weston-Jones (“Shadow and Bone”).

Kate is sleepwalking through life when a chance sexual encounter with a charismatic stranger awakens her. High on infatuation, Kate is headed for an intoxicating car crash.

“True Things” will premiere in theaters and on VOD/digital on September 9, 2022 via Samuel Goldwyn Films. Watch the first trailer below.
