There’s true heartbreak and then there’s being stuck in the friend zone, and it’s arguable that both can be equally painful. It’s one thing to lose a love, but what if you never got a chance to experience it with the person you’re pining for in the first place? Well, “What If” can sympathize.
Starring Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan, with Michael Dowse (“Goon,” “Take Me Home Tonight“) behind the camera, this one follows Wallace, who strikes up a close friendship with Chantry. The problem? She’s already in a longtime relationship with Ben, and despite the chemistry, Wallace will have to cool his jets.
Premiering at TIFF last year (under the much better title “The F World”) to some decent buzz, and featuring Adam Driver and Rafe Spall, this could be a little summertime charmer. Watch the first trailer below and keep an eye out at your local theatre in August.
