Watch: First Trailer For 'St. Vincent' Starring Bill Murray, Melissa McCarthy & Chris O'Dowd

St. VincentIn 1998, Bill Murray came bursting back to everyone’s attention in "Rushmore," and it’s easy to forget that at the time, his most recent previous credits included "Wild Things" and "Space Jam." But Wes Anderson‘s film showed he had a lot more to offer as an actor. And from there, a new era in his career began, which brings us to "St. Vincent," which almost feels like a weird, "Little Miss Sunshine"-esque glossy redo of Murray’s still indelible Herman Blume.

Co-starring Melissa McCarthy, Chris O’Dowd and Naomi Watts, the film tracks the unlikely friendship between a 12-year-old boy and his cranky, older neighbor, who introduces him to gambling, hookers, drinking and his prostitute lady friend. Yeah, it feels like we’ve seen this dynamic in a few films already, though the script has been buzzed around town ever since this thing first started casting. But it feels fairly indie-by-the-numbers. Guess we’ll see.

"St. Vincent" opens on October 24th.
