Watch: First Trailer For Thriller ‘Captive’ Starring Kate Mara, David Oyelowo & Michael Kenneth Williams

CaptiveName your favorite self-contained thrillers that mostly exist during a 24 hour period. You’ve got Martin Scorsese’s “After Hours” (which, yes, is arguably more of a comedy), David Fincher’s “Panic Room,” and… well, the rest are for you to sound off about below. We might have one more to add the list later this year (it could technically be longer than 24 hours, but much of the action looks to be set during this period), Paramount’s new thriller “Captive.”

Starring Kate Mara, Mimi Rogers, Michael Kenneth Williams, and David Oyelowo, “Captive” is a fact-based thriller about a single mother struggling with drug addiction who is randomly taken hostage in her own apartment by a man on the run from the law for breaking out of jail and murdering the judge assigned to his case.

Kate Mara from “House Of Cards” plays the mother in question, David Oyelowo plays the escaped convict, and Michael Kenneth Williams plays a detective on the case. The movie also co-stars Leonor Varela and Jessica Oyelowo (David’s theater-acting wife). The director in question is a journeyman, 80 year old TV vet Jerry Jameson, who hasn’t made a feature film since 2004’s “Last Flight Out” (which is arguably a TV movie, but did play a few festivals). Set for a September 18 release, maybe Paramount hopes to take the cast to the Toronto International Film Festival. We’ll find out soon. Watch the first trailer and look at some stills below.
