Watch: Penn Badgley Sings "Once I Was" In Clip From 'Greetings From Tim Buckley'

nullWhile the official, estate-sanctioned Jeff Buckley biopic “Mystery White Boy” continues to percolate without much movement (“West Of Memphis” helmer Amy Berg took over from Jake Scott last fall), the other movie about the late singer is on its way. And now you can judge for yourself if Penn Badgley has got the pipes to do him justice.

A new clip from “Greetings From Tim Buckley” has dropped and it features the actor delivering a rendition of “Once I Was.” The film centers on the famed, titular tribute concert to Buckley’s father, and imagines what Jeff was doing in the hours leading up to the show, which mostly involves hanging out with Imogen Poots. As we wrote in our TIFF review, the movie itself is pretty uneven, but Badgley handles the role well, and there’s no doubt the dude can sing.

Anyway, let us know your thoughts after watching the clip below. “Greetings From Tim Buckley” will hit theaters and be available on demand on April 16th. [Spinner]
