When we reported on the batch of new names joining "The Wolverine" earlier today, we speculated that was just the tip of the iceberg, particulary with the film starting to shoot soon, but we didn't expect to see more news arriving so quickly, especially for such a big part. But indeed, the villain has been cast, and no, it's not a name that you're likely familiar with.
Will Yun Lee, who has roles in the upcoming "Total Recall" and "Red Dawn" remakes, has landed the role of Silver Samurai in Fox's upcoming comic book movie. And well, you already know the rest of the details: James Mangold is at the helm of the movie that will find Wolverine suffering from amnesia and searching for answers about his past in the Japanese criminal underworld, where he finds both love and tragedy, and winds up squaring off against Silver Samurai. Lee joins Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and of course, Hugh Jackman in the flim.
Production is set to get underway in August with shooting to take place in Australia and Japan, and "The Wolverine" will carve up screens on July 26, 2013. [Variety]
