Got a Tip?

Watch: 32-Minute Talk With Guillermo Del Toro & Christopher Nolan About ‘Crimson Peak’

Crimson PeakWhile film studios always look overseas for a boost to their bottom line, things might not be so easy for Universal and Guillermo del Toro‘s R-rated "Crimson Peak." THR recently reported that a release date in China is still up in the air due to the country’s censors and their rules that prohibit movies that "promote cults or superstition." And it isn’t some obscure detail in the rulebook. In 2006 Disney‘s blockbuster "Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead’s Man Chest" was banned because it featured ghosts and allusions to cannibalism, which might make del Toro’s spooky tale — which features ghosts at the center of the story — difficult to make it to screens in the country. So what else can be done?

Well, hopefully Christopher Nolan‘s support of "Crimson Peak" will get some more people out to see del Toro’s heightened melodrama. The two directors sat down earlier this month for a Q&A following a DGA membership screening, and as you might expect, thirty minutes in the company of Nolan and del Toro is well worth making time for. Meanwhile, the cast of Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Mia Wasikowska stopped by Google and Charlie Rose to talk about the movie, and you can check those out below as well.
