Watch: The Game Is Afoot In New Trailer For 'Sherlock: The Abominable Bride' With Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman

Sherlock: The Abominable BrideWhile we’ve known that a one-off, holiday season "Sherlock" special would be coming, what hasn’t been known is the exact details of the feature length effort. All we’ve seen thus far is that the latest adventure facing Sherlock and Watson would find them back in the 19th century. And now, an official synopsis has arrived, but it offers little in the way of clues of what lays ahead. Here it is:

Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game) and Martin Freeman (The Hobbit) return as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in the acclaimed modern retelling of Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic stories. But now our heroes find themselves in 1890s London. Beloved characters Mary Morstan (played by Amanda Abbington), Inspector Lestrade (Rupert Graves) and Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs) also turn up at 221b Baker Street.

But perhaps mysteries are best left unopened until the right time, and no doubt, "Sherlock" fans will be eager to see what the team behind the acclaimed series have cooked up. And a brand new trailer has arrived — an extended version of the one you’ve seen already — featuring more footage, and another taste of the tale to be unraveled.
