Somewhere on the ever-growing list of TV shows that need to be watched is AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead.” Now in its fifth season, national treasure Kim Dickens is long gone and so is original cast member Frank Dillane. The new leads of the show now are essentially Lennie James as Morgan Jones (originally from “The Walking Dead” flagship show) and Alycia Debnam-Carey as Alicia Clark; though originals like Colman Domingo and Rubén Blades are still around. Picking up the slack over the years are cast members Maggie Grace, Garret Dillahunt, Danay García and Jenna Elfman.

In Season 5, the group’s mission is clear: locate survivors and help make what’s left of the world a slightly better place. With dogged determination, Morgan (Lennie James) leads the group with a philosophy rooted in benevolence, community, and hope. Each character believes that helping others will allow them to make up for the wrongs of their pasts. But trust won’t be easily earned. Their mission of helping others will be put to the ultimate test when our group finds themselves in uncharted territory, one which will force them to face not just their pasts but also their fears. It is only through facing those fears that the group will discover an entirely new way to live, one that will leave them forever changed.

At San Diego Comic-Con, the showrunners revealed the series has already been picked up for a sixth season. AMC doesn’t want the ‘Walking Dead’ franchise going anywhere anytime soon (a third series and a trilogy of movies are on the way). New cast members were revealed too: Colby Minifie, Peter Jacobson and Colby Hollman will be joining the ensemble. “The Fear the Walking Dead” midseason finale will be hitting your TV screen Sunday, July 21.
