'Landman' First Look: Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm & More Star In Taylor Sheridan's Latest

Where would Paramount+ be without Taylor Sheridan? Sure, that might seem hyperbolic, but you have to assume Sheridan’s projects make up a large number of streams and minutes watched. More than any other single creator, for sure. And that’s only going to continue to rise when “Landman” is released.

We may still be several months away from the release of Taylor Sheridan’s newest series, “Landman,” but Paramount+ is beginning the marketing push for the series already. The series tells the story of a West Texas oil town. It’s based on the podcast “Boomtown” and seems like it could be a Texas-set “Yellowstone”-esque drama.

The series stars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, Kayla Wallace, James Jordan, Mark Collie, Paulina Chávez, Demi Moore, Jon Hamm, Andy Garcia, and Michael Peña. As mentioned above, the series is the latest from Taylor Sheridan, the mastermind behind “Yellowstone” and just about every original program on Paramount+ (only slightly kidding).

“Landman” is set to debut on Paramount+ on November 17. You see the first-look photos below.

Here’s the synopsis:

Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, LANDMAN is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast “Boomtown” from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly, the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.
