‘Arco’ Teaser: Will Ferrell, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo & More Lead Voice Cast For Neon’s Animated Oscar Contender

Neon has unveiled the English-language voice cast and first teaser for “Arco,” the French animated feature that took Cannes by storm earlier this year. The film, directed by breakout filmmaker Ugo Bienvenu, will now feature the voices of Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Flea, Natalie Portman, Mark Ruffalo, and Andy Samberg for the American release.

“Arco” premiered at Cannes as a Special Screening and went on to win the Cristal Award for Best Feature Film and the Soundtrack Award at Annecy, cementing its reputation as one of the year’s most acclaimed animated films. The English-language version will debut in the Centerpiece section of the Toronto International Film Festival on September 7 before its U.S. theatrical release on November 14.

The film tells the story of a 10-year-old boy from a peaceful, distant future who accidentally travels back to the year 2075, discovering a world in peril. Alongside a young girl named Iris and her robot caretaker Mikki, Arco embarks on a journey to return home—while also holding the potential to save the planet. The voice ensemble adds further star power to what is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest animated contenders.

Produced by Bienvenu and Felix de Givry of Remembers, with Natalie Portman and Sophie Mas through mountainA, “Arco” marks Bienvenu’s feature debut. With its dazzling visual style and emotional, hopeful storytelling, the film has been positioned by NEON as a major player in this year’s awards race.

NEON, fresh off its sixth consecutive Palme d’Or win, brings “Arco” into a packed fall festival slate that also includes new films from Jafar Panahi, Oliver Laxe, Kleber Mendonça Filho, and Park Chan-wook.
