'Ash': Eiza Gonzalez & Aaron Paul To Star In Flying Lotus' New Sci-Fi Film Beginning Production Soon

Last summer, it was announced that Flying Lotus would be returning with a new feature film, a sci-fi thriller titled “Ash.” At the time, names like Tessa Thompson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were reported as starring in the film. Well, things have changed, months later, but have no fear, the filmmaker has found some great stars for “Ash.”

According to XYZ Films and GFC Films, Flying Lotus is about to begin production on his new film, “Ash.” And set to star in the two leading roles are none other than Eiza Gonzalez and Aaron Paul. Here’s the description of the new film:

When a woman (Gonzalez) wakes up on a distant planet and finds the crew of her space station viciously killed, she must decide if she can trust the man (Paul) sent to rescue her. 

Gonzalez is probably best known for her roles in films such as “Baby Driver,” “I Care A Lot,” and “Ambulance.” She’s next set to star in the highly-anticipated sci-fi series, “Three-Body Problem,” as well as the action film, “Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare,” directed by Guy Ritchie. Paul, on the other hand, is best known for his iconic role in the series, “Breaking Bad.” He’s also starred in the series “Westworld,” as well as the film “Dual.”

“We are building something fresh and unique with ‘Ash’ and having Eiza and Aaron in this world just makes it flames,” said Flying Lotus. “They are absolute magic makers, brave and equally inspiring. All that to say… We ‘bout to kill this shit.”

An accomplished musician, Flying Lotus is probably best known in the film world for his debut feature, “Kuso.” Most recently, he directed a segment in the horror anthology film, “V/H/S/99.” In addition to directing “Ash,” Flying Lotus will also write the score for the film. 

A release date for “Ash” is unknown at this time, but filming is expected to begin in May.
