Brad Pitt & Shia LaBeouf Offered Roles In 'Riptide' Written By Peter Morgan

This is an offer story so just bear in mind that offers go out to actors every day and it doesn’t necessarily mean they will end up being involved.

That being said, the talent involved here is too good to ignore. Pajiba reports that Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf have been offered roles in the mystery/thriller riptide that has been given a rewrite by “The Queen” and “Frost/Nixon” scribe Peter Morgan. The film follows “a handyman, a young stock broker, and the stock broker’s girlfriend. One of the men is found dead floating in the sea. The girlfriend is found at a nearby hotel. An investigator is called in to figure out what happened and why.”

Apparently, LaBeouf is being eyed for the role of the young stock broker while Pitt is being offered the part of the investigator. Will LaBeouf take on another role of a young stock broker after playing the same part in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps?” We somehow doubt it. As for Pitt, he seems to get attached/offered parts every week but very few of them pan out. Hell, he was even circling David Fincher’s “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” before the part went to Daniel Craig. For Pitt’s involvement it will most likely come down to who directs the film, which appears not to have been set just yet.

The film is currently set up at Summit with Steve Tisch (“Forrest Gump,” “The Pursuit of Happyness”) and Will Davies (“How to Train Your Dragon”) producing.
