Danny Trejo B-Movie Action Flick 'Vengeance' Gets A Red-Band Trailer

No, there’s no red-band trailer for Robert Rodriguez’ “Machete” just yet, but a red-band for another Danny Trejo action vehicle, “Vengeance,” has surfaced.

And hell, if this doesn’t define what a red-band trailer is all about then we don’t know what would. Filled with sex, drugs, plenty of gun violence, and general Danny Trejo badassery, the trailer exhibits the film’s apparently super cheap production values to aid telling its story (which we’re guessing there’s not too much of, but why expect that?) of an, oddly enough, vengeful cop. Here’s a studio-supplied synopsis:

“Jack is a retired undercover vice cop whose world is suddenly torn apart by the murder of his wife and daughter. After serving a prison term for a crime he didn’t commit, Jack returns to the streets with a vengeance against crime, and takes to vigilantism.”

The film, directed by Gil Medina (“Jack’s Law,” another Trejo-starrer), also stars Jason Mewes, 50 Cent, Donal Logue and Dallas Page. Now there’s an ideal cast that every ridiculous action film should aspire to have.

“Vengeance” will apparently arrive a mere two months after “Machete” on November 11, 2010, though we can’t find any official channels reporting this — and frankly, we’re surprised that it would actually hit theaters in the first place at all. It definitely looks like a direct-to-DVD flick.

The film’s sequel is also reportedly in the works, with Medina all ready to go with a script as of last summer with no recent developments, so don’t hold your breath for that one. If you do want to somehow make your way into stardom with the sequel, you may still be able to try to land a speaking role by accepting a free DVD of “Vengeance” from Trejo himself. Right.
