'Escape At Dannemora' Trailer: Paul Dano & Benicio Del Toro Star In Series Based On Insane True Story

The true story of the 2015 Dannemora prison breakout is almost too ridiculous to believe. The drama surrounds a female prison worker, named Tilly Mitchell, who involves herself in a sexual relationship with two separate inmates and uses her access to give them the supplies they need to escape. Of course, if you followed the news, you know that the escape was just part of the story, as the two men and Tilly found themselves at the center of a manhunt.

And now, thanks to the filmmaking mind of Ben Stiller, we’re going to see an adaptation of that true story in the upcoming series “Escape at Dannemora.” The limited event series stars Patricia Arquette as Mitchell, who is almost unrecognizable in the series’ trailer. Joining Arquette are Benicio del Toro and Paul Dano as the prisoners Richard Matt and David Sweat, respectively.

Stiller is the director and executive producer of the series. For those that only think of Stiller as the goofball actor in films like “Zoolander,” you should also know that Stiller has had a fairly successful career as a director. Sure, not all are winners, but with films like “Reality Bites” and “Tropic Thunder,” Stiller has proven himself as a competent, if sometimes great, filmmaker.

Of course, with Arquette, del Toro, and Dano leading the way, there’s no way that the acting in the Showtime series will be anything less than stellar.

“Escape at Dannemora” will debut on Showtime on November 18.
