According to Deadline, Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson have signed on to star in the upcoming film, “Ghosted,” which is being produced by Apple Studios and Skydance. The film is described as a romance action-adventure, but plot details are scarce. We do know the film is being written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, the two are best known for writing “Deadpool” and “Zombieland,” and it will be directed by Dexter Fletcher. The filmmaker most notably finished “Bohemian Rhapsody” when Bryan Singer was fired from the production, before going to direct “Rocketman.”

As mentioned above, Evans and Johansson are incredibly popular actors thanks to their previous roles in Marvel Studios features. However, both are seemingly retired from the superhero life with Evans’ Captain America departing after “Avengers: Endgame” and Johansson finishing up her run with this year’s “Black Widow.” (Though, Johansson is still mentioned with Marvel Studios quite a bit thanks to her recent lawsuit.)

“Ghosted” is yet another feature, added to the dozens before it, for Apple Studios that combines huge A-list talent with big-name filmmakers. Whether it’s on TV or in big-budget films, Apple is sparing no expense to make sure it’s a major player in Hollywood. And combining two former Avengers with the director of “Rocketman” and the writers of “Deadpool” is definitely one way to draw some attention to your studio.
