Guns, Gambling, Boobs, Girls & Monsters....It's The Teaser For 'The Goon' Produced By David Fincher

David Fincher and Paul Giamatti are set to appear at the forthcoming Comic Con to talk about “The Goon.” Based on the comics by Eric Powell (who also wrote the screenplay), produced by Fincher and with the lead character voiced by Giamatti, the film has been knocking around for a while. There was actually a panel about the film at last year’s Comic Con where two clips were presented, but it appears that things have moved along considerably since then as, in anticipation of this year’s event, a brand spanking new teaser has arrived.

We haven’t read the comics, but it appears to be a bit of a paranormal spin on the noir genre – the brief spot is loads of pulpy fun which has us excited. But this one is seeming to take a long time to come together. A director still hasn’t been announced, but what we do know is that the film will be rated PG-13 and stay very loyal to the source material (ie. no new characters). Fincher’s involvement is hardly surprising; as you might recall, the director is trying to get a new version of “Heavy Metal” off the ground.

No word on additional cast members, the director or a release date at this time, but we imagine some of those questions will be answered next week.
