'Handmaid's Tale' Season 3 Trailer: An Army Of Resistance Awakens

Your favorite misogynistic dystopian television series “The Handmaid’s Tale” is returning for on Hulu, and they sure know how to grab attention with their trailer. The award-winning show based on Margaret Atwood’s 1985 novel teases its anticipated third season during the famous super bowl commercials.

If you aren’t caught up, “The Handmaid’s Tale” follows the plot of the Handmaid Offred, a woman who lives in dystopian post-America after a second civil war, where women are divided into classes based on their child-bearing abilities. Offred, whose real name is June Osborne, is played by the talented actress Elisabeth Moss. Moss, who is also the producer for “The Handmaid’s Tale” along with Margaret Atwood, won two Primetime Emmy Awards for both outstanding lead actress in a drama series and one for producing an outstanding drama series. She is also known for her roles in shows like “West Wing” and “Mad Men.”

Other notable actors in the series are Yvonne Strahovski (“Chuck”), Joseph Fiennes (“Shakespeare in Love”), Ann Dowd (“Marley & Me”), and Alexis Bledel (“Gilmore Girls,” “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants”).

The series itself confirmed a third season back in May 2018 on the streaming platform Hulu after great critical acclaim for the first two runs. Along with Moss’ two Emmys, “The Handmaid’s Tale” also won the 2017 Emmy Awards for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series (Ann Dowd), outstanding directing for a drama series (director Reed Morano), and outstanding writing for a drama series (Bruce Miller). The tv show also won awards from BAFTA Television Awards, Golden Globes, and Critic’s Choice.
