Henry Golding led Paramount Pictures‘ “G.I. Joe” origin reboot film “Snake Eyes,” playing a new cinematic version of the ninja Joe and there has been some curiosity among fans if the British actor would end up reprising the role for something like the gestating “Joe” and “Transformers” crossover film that had reports stating Chris Hemsworth would be taking a lead part in it (possibly playing a version of Chuckles, a Joe long rumored to be the protagonist).
Speaking with ComicBook while promoting his new film “The Old Guard 2,” Golding gave a pretty coy response to his participation as he’s seemingly unaware of his involvement and if Paramount will simply decide to recast the roles established in “Snake Eyes” after the film had a “rough run” at the box office when it was released in theaters back in 2021.

“I know there’s stuff happening, there’s rumors of Transformers and Snake Eyes. I don’t know if they’ll just skip our G.I. Joe and go back to the original G.I. Joe, like, who knows? I think we had a rough, rough run on that one,” Golding said, putting basic-level doubt that there aren’t current plans to return to play Snake Eyes anytime soon.
IF Paramount decides to seek new actors for their crossover, that would likely mean that Andrew Koji (“Street Fighter”) as Storm Shadow, Samara Weaving (“Ready or Not 2”) as Scarlett, and Úrsula Corberó as Cobra baddie Baroness would likely be recast as well.
When it comes to the crossover, we don’t really know too much other than “Kong: Skull Island” and “Jurassic World” screenwriter Derek Connelly is behind the script, and we’re still waiting on word of a director, co-stars, and a release date.
What we do know is that there are reports the studio is developing five live-action “Transformers” movies, with two going to be helmed by Michael Bay and Josh Cooley (“Transformers One”). Will one of them end up directing this crossover? That remains to be seen as we learn more concrete plot details about these various franchise installments at Paramount.
Fans will just have to be patient until more information comes out, but things aren’t looking good for Golding, going by his statements.
