If 'Man Of Steel' Is A Hit, Warner Bros. Will Ask Zack Snyder To Direct 'Justice League'

nullYou might remember that earlier in the year it was reported that Warner Bros. were waiting to see how “Man Of Steel” fared before deciding on “Justice League.” And, well, duh. It’s a move that only makes sense given that there’s already a lot riding on the Superman reboot, and with the millions of dollars involved, everything involving DC Comics is a chess move of epic proportions. It’s not exactly a shock WB roped Christopher Nolan in to bring his quality brand to “Man Of Steel” as an executive producer, and it seems they want to keep key creative talent in the mix if/when they proceed on “Justice League.”

Empire recently profiled the upcoming superhero film, and within the pages is a very interesting tidbit indicating that Snyder may not be done with dudes in tights: “Whether we get a ‘Justice League,’ [Warner Bros] say, depends on ‘Man of Steel.’ If we do, they say, Zack Snyder will be asked to direct.”

Of course, this revelation opens up a Pandora’s box of questions ranging from potential ‘Steel’ sequels to Marvel-esque world building, and Snyder teases at both. “We didn’t design the movie like Batman, but I don’t think anybody would say that you design a Superman movie as a one-off,” he teased, later adding about his Superman movie: “…in a weird way it is also the DC world. I have been making references to the DC universe, just to let you know that world is out there.”

All stuff for eagle-eyed fans to look for (and it would perhaps explain the LexCorp building in the recent trailer) but for now, all eyes are on “Man Of Steel” first, and Snyder seems confident his 2 hour and 28 minute film (yes, that’s the official runtime) will deliver. “I have a hard time having perspective, but I have to say that it is everything that I could have hoped for. Touch wood that I am not insane, but it feels really good,” he says.

Making the distinction that the movie “is not Superman 3D, it is ‘Man Of Steel,’ available in 3D” you’ll be able to see if Snyder is the man for “Justice League” starting on June 14th. But oh, if you want to go to an early screening on June 13th, you’ll have to head to your local Walmart to snag tickets. [via JoBlo]
