Jaume Collet-Serra Will Make Liam Neeson Run All Night, Non-Stop, From Unknown Bad Guys In 'The Commuter'

Jaume Collet-Serra Liam Neeson Non-StopYes, I sort of recycled that headline, but this might be the last time I get to use it, at least until Liam Neeson does another on-the-run movie. But for now, he’s reteaming with his best bud on this kinds of film, Jaume Collet-Serra, for yet another one.

The duo, who previously teamed for "Run All Night," "Non-Stop," and "Unknown," will now pair up for "The Commuter." Byron Willinger and Phil de Blasi wrote the script for this tale of a businessman who finds his life, and those of his loved ones, threatened by a criminal conspiracy. Of course it is. I presume it won’t be the authorities who set things right, but this own special set of skills that reign down justice on the bad guys.

Even though audiences haven’t exactly been receptive lately to Neeson in this mode ("Taken 3" and "Run All Night" didn’t exactly take great box office receipts), it’s still probably the kind of movie that, at the right budget, winds up earning a tidy little profit and making everyone happy. Lionsgate will release the movie, but no word yet on when production begins. [THR]
