The actor has set "Mid 90s" to be his first effort behind the camera, and he’ll be working from his own script. The film will be a coming-of-age type tale following a group of California teenagers, and the project has some pretty big weight behind it, with indie tastemakers A24 and mega-producer Scott Rudin both involved. Moreover, Hill will finally be scratching a career itch he’s been wanting to get to for a while.

You might recall that at one point, he was attached to direct "Kitchen Sink." Well, that movie eventually turned into "Freaks Of Nature," with Robbie Pickering directing, and judging by the final result, perhaps Hill dodged a bullet there.

No word yet on when production will begin, but Hill will only be directing "Mid 90s," not starring in it. [The Wrap]
