Selina Meyer is back with a vengeance — and her quintessential foul-mouthed insults. Julia Louis-Dreyfus returns to play the former President trying to adjust to her first year out of the Oval Office. HBO has dropped a hilarious new trailer for season six of acclaimed series “Veep,” which premieres April 16th.

The opening of the promo features Selina Meyer on a morning show talking about her new life. “Well, this last year has been fun,” Meyer says with a plastered smile on her face. The clip goes on to show Meyer volunteering for community service, visiting refugee camps and naturally ripping her staff a new one. The latter includes the now-congressman Jonah Ryan (Timothy Simons), who cost her the election. “I will destroy you in ways that are so creative, they will honor me for it at the Kennedy Center,” Meyer tells the former White House lackey.
As the clip rolls on, the burns just keep getting better. “You look like the world’s least-fucked Geisha,” Meyer tells Mike McClintock (Matt Walsh), who is slathered in white sunscreen. Amy Brookheimer (Anna Chlumsky), meanwhile, kicks off boyfriend Buddy Calhoun’s (Matt Oberg) gubernatorial campaign by referring to his home state as a “dried coyote turd.” If that wasn’t enough to get the staff going, she adds “so, saddle up those emphysema tanks, you inbred cousin fuckers.”
“Veep” has been nominated for nine Golden Globes. The series also won Outstanding Comedy Series at the Emmys for the second year in a row.
