Katherine Waterston Joins The Cast Of Damien Chazelle's 1920s Hollywood Drama, 'Babylon'

Over the past several years, Katherine Waterston has established herself as one of the most interesting actresses working today. With her combination of big studio blockbusters, indie dramas, and everything in between, she’s got projects for all film fans and has showcased her talents in each. And apparently, she’s about to get a huge chance to continue to grow her fanbase with the upcoming drama, “Babylon,” directed by the man behind “La La Land,” “Whiplash,” and “First Man.”

According to Deadline, Katherine Waterston is the latest actor to join the growing cast of Damien Chazelle’s ambitious new drama, “Babylon.” Waterston joins the already-announced cast that includes Margot Robbie, Brad Pitt, Diego Calva, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li. The film is said to take place during the time in Hollywood when studios were transitioning from silent films to “talkies.” Originally, the film was said to feature the stories of real-life legends in the film industry, but more recent reports point to the R-rated film being comprised of original characters.

Waterston is probably best known for her roles in films such as “Inherent Vice,” “Alien: Covenant,” “Logan Lucky,” and “mid90s.” Her biggest role to date is in the two “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” films set in the world of “Harry Potter.” Recently, Waterston has appeared in features such as “Amundsen” and “The World to Come.” She also had a starring role in the recent HBO miniseries, “The Third Day.”

“Babylon” is expected to debut on December 25, 2022 before opening wide on January 6, 2023. So, there’s still plenty of time to get excited for the latest feature from Damien Chazelle.
