Yes, we're still incredulous that after the many tall tales, fabrications and fishing stories that come out of the mouth of Mark Millar, "Kick-Ass 2" is actually happening. And while the premise finds it subverting the standard tropes of the superhero genre, it does fall in line with one key requirement of a sequel: there's going to be more people in it.
Donald Faison, best known as Turk on "Scrubs," will be joining the movie as Dr. Gravity, who teams up with Hit Girl and Kick-Ass to take on Red Mist (again). A copy writer by day (though he claims to be a physics professor) and a superhero by night, Dr. Gravity is armed with a Gravity Pole (a baseball bat covered in toil foil) that supposedly helps him float off the ground. But of course, these amateur crimefighters usually have to rely on much more low-tech means to get the job done as they don't actually have any real super abilities. This writer hasn't read the comic, but the funny Faison seems like a good fit for the goofy world of the movie.
Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are back, John Leguizamo has joined, Nicolas Cage is being eyed for a cameo and Jeff Wadlow ("Cry_Wolf") will direct. Production gears up this fall, but no release date has yet been set.
