Well, whaddya know? It looks like cameras have already started rolling on Ridley Scott‘s “The Counselor.” While casting is still ongoing for the film (and with Michael Fassbender currently busy shooting “Twelve Years A Slave“) it seems the director is squeezing in time to shoot whenever there is space in the calendars of his extensive cast, and Brad Pitt is currently knocking out his scenes over in London (with the Olympics likely serving as good cover for the paparazzi-stalked actor).
But wherever there is Pitt, there will be a camera of some kind, and a photog (or two) managed to snap the actor wearing a ten gallon hat as he shot his scenes in a hotel. As you’ll recall, Pitt plays Westray, a mysterious figure in the drug trade, and advises and aids the titular character, played by Fassbender, on his new sideline gig. And even as Pitt’s scenes roll, Scott is busy adding more names to the movie.
If John Leguizamo hasn’t had too much of a presence on the big screen in the last couple of years, it’s because the man has been busy. In late 2011, the actor began a world tour of his one-man show, “Ghetto Klown,” which resulted in a PBS documentary that aired earlier this year. But always one to keep a few pots stirring at the same time, he also nabbed roles in “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “One For The Money” while reprising his role in the fourth entry of the long running “Ice Age” series of films. But his calendar is opening up a bit, and he’s set join “The Counselor” in an unspecified role…but that’s not all.
Even as we type the words, we still don’t believe it, but “Kick-Ass 2” is actually a thing and Leguizamo will be contributing, playing Javier, the bodyguard of Christopher Mintz-Plasse‘s Red Mist. Both movies are expected to lens in the fall, which will keep the actor busy. On “The Counselor” he’ll be teaming with Fassbender, Pitt, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Cameron Diaz, Dean Norris and Rosie Perez, while on “Kick-Ass 2” he’ll be hanging out with the returning fresh-faced cast of Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson and the aforementioned McLovin. No release date (yet) for either flick. [JustJared/Yahoo/Deadline]
