Every so often, Netflix will do a big release date announcement that is surely a bit of a flex, showing just how dominant the studio has become when it comes to original content. And today, that is no exception, as the studio unveiled release dates for no less than 40 projects, which will all be released between now and the end of the year, including some of the most anticipated films of 2021.

Of the anticipated films coming this fall, October sees the release of “The Guilty,” which is an English-language remake of an 2018 Danish film. The new version, which stars Jake Gyllenhaal, arrives on October 1 on the streamer, after getting a theatrical release on September 24. In November, Rebecca Hall’s acclaimed directorial debut, “Passing,” arrives on Netflix on November 10 (theatrical on October 27). The Andrew Garfield-starring “tick, tick…BOOM” hits Netflix on November 19 (theatrical on November 12). And Halle Berry’s directorial debut, “Bruised,” debuts on the streamer on November 24 (theatrical on November 17).
But perhaps the biggest films are being saved for December, including Adam McKay’s star-studded “Don’t Look Up,” which hits Netflix on December 24, after arriving two weeks earlier in theaters on December 10. And Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog” arrives on the streaming platform on December 1 after hitting theaters on November 17. Both of those films have serious Oscars buzz.
