Between "Jack Reacher" and "Jack Ryan," Paramount surely has a lot of Jack on their hands with their franchises. You would think they might be worried about audience confusion, but clearly they're certain that Chris Pine's thriller and Tom Cruise's actioner will provide two distinct, unique characters that it won't be a problem. At least that's the hope.
Either way, their marketing department is making sure we see plenty of both and after a handful of "Jack Ryan" images, a new "Jack Reacher" image has emerged with Tom Cruise as the titular ex-military cop/drifter/solver of crimes and Rosamund Pike as Helen Rodin, the attorney defending the man accused of using his sniper skills to kill a bunch of people. And yeah, this is nice and all, but can we get a look at Werner Herzog already? Okay, thanks.
"Jack Reacher" (I hardly know her!) opens on December 21st.
