Comic-Con, full swing, check. 20th Century Fox‘s “In Time,” the new sci-fi film by “Gattaca” director Andrew Niccol just released an official first look photo of its stars Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried earlier this week, and with the picture doing the hawk-and-sell rounds at the Con, it’s only natural that more assets are hitting.

Fox just unveiled new posters and footage from the film which you can see below.

Co-starring Cillian Muphy, Vincent Kartheiser, Alex Pettyfer, Johnny Galecki, Olivia Wilde and Matthew Bomer, “In Time” presents a world where “time has become the ultimate currency. You stop aging at 25, but there’s a catch: you’re genetically-engineered to live only one more year, unless you can buy your way out of it. The rich ‘earn’ decades at a time (remaining at age 25), becoming essentially immortal, while the rest beg, borrow or steal enough hours to make it through the day. When a man from the wrong side of the tracks is falsely accused of murder, he is forced to go on the run with a beautiful hostage. Living minute to minute, the duo’s love becomes a powerful tool in their war against the system.”

What part of the film appealed to Timberlake? “The idea of how could we achieve being young forever,” he said in today’s Comic-Con press conference. “I just fell in love with the man that he was. An ordinary man being put in fantastical situations. He wakes up with 24 hours on his body clock, so he only has a day to live. [I liked] the idea of what would you do, how would you live; the idea of having to beg and steal to stay alive.”

Having the director of “Gattaca” at the helm didn’t hurt either. “As a director [Andrew] has the ability to create a thrill ride in the midst of all these ideas. I haven’t done a film like this, so I was excited to jump into those running shoes. I run a lot. While it is thrilling, I feel like it is performance driven.”

And he’s also pretty down with all the action in the film. “I’m from Tennessee and it’s no secret, we like to shoot guns. So that was pretty cool,” he said.

While presenting an “unknown” project at Comic-Con — that’s not a franchise — can be tough, Niccol seemed indifferent. “I think we’ll get out alive,” he said slyly. “If I have all my limbs when I walk out, I’ll be satisfied,” Timberlake said, noting that the geek crowd can be ruthless. “Any time you create something that’s a little bit left of center… A movie like this is intense and thrilling but it says a lot.”
