'Solar Opposites' Season 3 Trailer: Justin Roiland's Alien Comedy Returns For July

Everyone’s favorite space-based alien family, the “Solar Opposites,” are returning to Hulu for a third season. Originally premiering in 2020, “Solar Opposites” took the adult animated sitcom and gave it a sci-fi twist. Co-creators Justin Roiland and Mike McMahan both worked on the acclaimed sci-adventure series “Rick and Morty,” with Roiland voicing both lead characters and McMahan writing. Much like “Rick and Morty,” science and technology are at the forefront of the show, but a little bit of magic slips in every now and again.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Solar Opposites” centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo and Yumyulack only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty, while Terry and Jesse love TV, junk food, and fun stuff. In season three, this alien team strives to be less of a team and more of a family team.

Roiland will additionally be executive producing the show as well as voicing it. Joining him will be McMahan and Josh Bycel, known for his work on “The Mindy Project” and “Scrubs.” Along with Roiland, the original cast will be returning to reprise their roles. Thomas Middleditch will be playing Terry. Middleditch is best known for his comedic roles in “Silicon Valley” (2014), “Drunk History” (2015), and “Middleditch and Schwartz” (2020).

Mary Mack and Sean Giambrone will be playing Jesse and Yumyulack. Mack has starred in the zany Adult Swim superhero comedy “Aqua Teen Hunger Force,” while Giambrone is most known for his role in “The Goldbergs” and has done a lot of voice work over the years.

The 11-episode series will arrive on Hulu on July 13, 2022.
