'The Golden Cage': Kiernan Shipka To Star In New Hulu Wall Street Drama Series From Director Of 'Andor'

Kiernan Shipka might be venturing over the “Riverdale” to resurrect her ‘Chilling Adventures’ witch, Sabrina Spellman, but the actress is ready to move into the real world for her next project. And by real world, I mean she’s ready to play a Wall Street business person attempting to climb up the ranks. Basically, the witch is giving up her hobbies and getting a real job. It’s brutal out there, folks.

According to Deadline, Kiernan Shipka is set to star in the upcoming Hulu series, “The Golden Cage.” The series is described as a series that will explore one young woman’s attempt to hide her past as she ascends the ranks in Wall Street. Think “Suits” mixed with, obviously, “Wall Street.” And bringing the project to production is none other than director Susanna White. She’s the veteran TV director that recently scored the gig of a lifetime, as the filmmaker behind the upcoming “Star Wars” Disney+ series, “Andor.”

As mentioned, Shipka is probably best known for her work as Sabrina in the aforementioned, “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina,” which ran on Netflix for multiple seasons. However, before that, she also had a pretty big role in the Emmy-winning drama series, “Mad Men,” when she was just a young girl. She also has a role in the highly-anticipated HBO political drama, “The White House Plumbers.”

Of course, White is best known for her project that hasn’t been released, which is the “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” prequel series, “Andor.” But well before that, she made a real name for herself as director of TV episodes for series such as “The Deuce,” “Boardwalk Empire,” “Billions,” and “Masters Of Sex.”

There’s no anticipated premiere date for “The Golden Cage,” but it looks like yet another Hulu series worth keeping an eye on.
