‘The Perfect Date’ Trailer: Noah Centineo Is A Teen Psuedo-Gigolo In Your New Favorite Netflix Rom-Com

Let’s face it – Noah Centineo is probably responsible for tens of millions of people watching Netflix last summer. With his starring roles in “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before…” and “Sierra Burgess is a Loser,” the young actor vaulted to the top of the pile of fresh-faced heartthrobs that will make teens’ hearts all across the world flutter. And so it should be no surprise that Netflix quickly signed him up for a new teen rom-com, titled “The Perfect Date.”

In the film’s first trailer, you meet Centineo’s character (the name doesn’t matter), a young guy working at a fast food place with dreams of going to Yale and dating his big crush. To earn money for Yale, and to impress his crush, he decides to start a smartphone app where rich girls can pay him to be their “chaperone” for a night. Need a date for the high school dance? Noah’s your dude. You can even customize what characteristics he shows off. (Of course, the strong resemblance to Mark Ruffalo is non-negotiable.)

“The Perfect Date” stars Centineo alongside Laura Marano, Odiseas Georgiadis, Matt Walsh, and Camila Mendes.

The teen flick hits Netflix on April 12.

Here’s the synopsis:

Brooks Rattigan (Noah Centineo) has the academic chops to get into his dream Ivy League school, but what he’s missing is an outstanding extracurricular — and the money. When he seizes on an opportunity to make some extra cash by posing as the boyfriend of a self-assured, combat boot-loving girl named Celia Lieberman (Laura Marano), he finds he has a knack for being the perfect stand-in. Together with his programmer friend Murph (Odiseas Georgiadis), Brooks launches an app selling himself as a plus-one for all occasions. Along the way, he meets the girl of his dreams (Camila Mendes). But when business starts to boom, Brooks must reassess everything he was once sure of.
