'The Society' Trailer: Netflix's Latest Original Series Explores A Teens-Only Town On The Brink Of Chaos

Those of us that are adults, perhaps with kids of our own, can remember what it was like to be an angsty teen. Those days, all you cared about was the drama at school, the music you were listening to, and trying to get away from your parents’ rules. So, what would have happened if you woke up and all the adults in your town just disappeared, with just the teens left to pick up the pieces? That’s the premise behind Netflix’s newest original series, “The Society.”

In the trailer for “The Society,” we find the answer to that question — chaos. Well, at first, it isn’t immediate chaos, as the teens develop some sort of new society, with rules and a pseudo-government. But when hormones become a factor, things begin to devolve, with a possible revolution and plenty of violence. It should be no surprise to those of us that lived through those terrible teenage years that this sort of outcome was bound to happen.

The cast includes Rachel Keller, Kathryn Newton, Alex Fitzalan, Kristine Froseth, Jacques Colimon, Sean Berdy, Toby Wallace, Gideon Adlon, Olivia DeJonge, Alex MacNicoll, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Jose Julian, Salena Qureshi, Jack Mulhern, and Grace Victoria Cox.

“The Society” arrives on Netflix on May 10.

Here’s the synopsis:

The Society follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to a facsimile of their wealthy New England town without any trace of their parents. Their newfound freedom will be fun… but it will also be very dangerous. As they struggle to figure out what has happened to them and how to get home, they must establish order and form alliances if they want to survive.
