It’s a joke that never gets old. Once again, Tom Holland has “mistakenly” revealed something about a Spider-Man or Marvel Studios movie he wasn’t supposed to. This time? The title and release date of the fourth Spider-Man movie. The title? “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” And the release date? July 31, 2026.
The announcement came from a video Holland made from the set (or his lodging) in Europe as he films Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey.” A movie that will hit theaters on…July 17, 2026. Huh. That seems problematic for IMAX screen counts. Look for that to be an industry media narrative sooner rather than later.
The video was shown at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas with “Brand New Day’s” director, Destin Daniel Cretton, taking the stage to discuss his passion for the project and his young son’s love of the character.
There were no other casting announcements, nor did Cretton reveal when filming will begin, but reports indicate that Sadie Sink is on board for a major role. The release date also confirms that “Brand New Day” will hit theaters in between “Avengers: Doomsday,” arriving on May 1, 2026, and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” set for May 7, 2026. It has been assumed that Spider-Man and Holland will be part of either both or one of these projects, but nothing has been officially announced so far. Holland was not part of the “Doomsday” cast reveal last week, but Marvel Studios has made it clear there were more members of the ensemble to come. Perhaps we’ll learn something when Walt Disney Studios has its own CinemaCon presentation on Thursday.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens nationwide on July 31, 2026
