While Steven Spielberg put on his Serious Adult Movie face with this fall’s "Bridge Of Spies," next summer he goes back to his blockbuster roots with his Roald Dahl adaptation,"The BFG." And yes, the fast-moving director already has a trailer for his next effort and it has landed online.
Mark Rylance, who earned raves and Oscar buzz for his turn opposite Tom Hanks in Spielberg’s spy flick, takes the titular role here about the friendship that develops between a little girl, Sophie (Ruby Barnhill), and, of course, a big friendly giant. Here’s the official synopsis:
"The BFG" will be Spielberg’s first-ever live-action 3D movie and feature a score by John Williams. It opens on July 1, 2016.
