Jack Ryan is back in a reboot of sorts that brings the character previously played by Harrison Ford (x2), Alec Baldwin and Ben Affleck back to his roots. As the title suggests, he’ll just be getting into the game when we meet him again in “Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit,” but it seems he’s already got some skills to the pay the bills.
An extensive first clip from the movie has landed, and it’s essentially a mix of Jason Bourne and James Bond. The sequence finds Jack Ryan making his first kill, going all hand-to-hand combat with a massive foe in a sequence that finds director Kenneth Branagh (who also plays the villain in the film) borrowing liberally from Paul Greengrass‘ in-the-moment style. Will it be enough to revive Tom Clancy‘s character and franchise?
