Watch: Learn About The Turing Test In First Clip From 'Ex Machina' With Oscar Isaac, Plus New Featurette

Ex MachinaA movie we figured would be a sure bet for the Sundance Film Festival, "Ex Machina" will skip Park City, likely because its opening abroad first, just after the events in Utah get underway. No matter. The latest from screenwriter Alex Garland ("Sunshine," "28 Days Later…"), who makes his directorial debut with the picture, packs a premise that already has sci-fi heads curious, and the arrival of a new clip and featurette will only spur that interest further.

Oscar Isaac and Domnhall Gleeson star in the film about a young programmer who is invited to the home of the reclusive CEO of the company where he works in order to take part in a unique experiment: interact with the beautiful, AI robot Ava (Alicia Vikander). As the triangle gets more intense, the lines between humanity and technology start shifting. In this clip, you’ll learn about the Turing test, which seems to be a good thing to know going into the movie, while the featurette dives into the themes of the film.

"Ex Machina" opens on April 10, 2015 in the U.S. and next month in the U.K.
