Watch: Michael Caine Reveals Alfred's Backstory In 'The Dark Knight' Trilogy, Compares Christopher Nolan To David Lean

null"The Dark Knight Rises" may be on home video for your viewing pleasure, with plenty to dig into among the extras, but that doesn't mean there still isn't more to discover about the film. The promotion for the movie continues and over at the Warner Bros. UK YouTube channel, they've thrown up an interview with Michael Caine (aka Alfred) and there are some choice revelations that will please diehard fans.

First off, Caine goes into the more detail about Alfred's former SAS background (hinted at in the films) and how he came into contact with the Wayne family. It's something the actor came up with himself in preparation for the role, and it's nice look into Caine's process. And clearly enamored in working with Christopher Nolan, he compares the director to legendary David Lean, helmer of such epics as "Lawrence Of Arabia," "Bridge On The River Kwai" and "Doctor Zhivago." It's a nice little segment, so check it out below. [Flicks And Bits]
