Super Bowl Sunday, a smorgasbord of sport and commercials where lots of money gets on the field to try and win the Big Game, all while trying to sell you stuff in between plays. And so the ads keep coming, with Sony Pictures—who reserved most of their budget for the big “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” spot that’s coming—dropping a couple of quick ads for their February releases, “Monuments Men” (review here) and “Pompeii.”
For the George Clooney-directed flick, we get thirty seconds mostly devoted to highlighting the all-star cast and reminding folks that the movie opens on Friday. Meanwhile, “Pompeii” mostly reminds us that this movie exists, and promises lots of fire and spectacle and boats crashing on big waves and yelling. If you were half-paying attention, you might think this was “300: Rise Of An Empire.”
“Monuments Men” opens on February 9th and “Pompeii” on February 21st. Watch below.
