Zack Snyder Reveals Details About The "Definitive" Cut Of 'Justice... Oops, Sorry, 'Sucker Punch'

All those folks that beat the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut drum should be excited to learn that there is a Snyder Cut that might be coming down the line, but sadly, it doesn’t feature Batman, Superman, or Wonder Woman. Instead, filmmaker Zack Snyder has revealed that there’s a “definitive” version of “Sucker Punch” in existence, and it very well might see the light of day.

Thanks to the social media choice of Zack Snyder and all his fans asking him a never-ending barrage of questions, Vero (via Screen Rant), we’ve learned that “Sucker Punch” has a third cut that is Snyder-approved, but still has yet to have an official release.

The director is taking part in an upcoming Director’s Cut charity event, where he will screen the extended cuts of “Watchmen,” “Batman v. Superman,” and “Dawn of the Dead.” Sorry, superhero fans, no “Justice League.” However, when he was asked why the extended version of “Sucker Punch” wouldn’t be involved, Snyder replied, “It’s not the definitive version.”

The version he’s referencing is the R-rated, extended cut that added 18 minutes to the film and was released on the “Sucker Punch” Blu-ray. For those not familiar with Snyder’s film, “Sucker Punch” tells the story of Babydoll and her history through the use of various realities and universes. Upon its release in 2011, the film was panned by most critics (currently sits at 23% on Rotten Tomatoes), but found its audience thanks to its incredible visual flair.

Alas, the PG-13 version that screened in theaters and the extended R-rated Blu-ray cut are not the versions of the film that Snyder approves. So, what makes the “Sucker Punch” unreleased Snyder Cut so much better. The filmmaker said, “The unseen cut is better and has the Emily Browning ending where she sings[.] It’s cool without compromise[.] Someday.”

With all the discussion over the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut folks and their passion for the unreleased Snyder Cut of “Justice League,” it’s almost funny that in one exchange, the filmmaker has given more information about a potential “Sucker Punch” Snyder Cut than about any sort of DC superhero team-up film.

So, are you guys amped about a new “Sucker Punch” cut? Will social media pressure force someone to finally release the definitive version? Let us know.
