Listen: “The Rains Of Castamere” By Sigur Rós From ‘Game Of Thrones’ Plus Pic Of Band’s Cameo In Last Night’s Episode

Game Of Thrones Sigur Ros

If you didn’t watch “Game Of Thrones” last night, SPOILERS AHEAD. And for the rest of you, while you’re still recovering from the big twist in “The Lion And The Rose” (full recap), here’s a detail you might have missed amongst all the drama that unfolded.

Sigur Rós took a break from creating epic, moving soundscapes to make a cameo in “Game Of Thrones,” appearing quickly as the official band for Joffrey’s wedding (before things end very, very badly for him). Their appearance was first announced last year, but their role was being kept under wraps for spoiler purposes. But that’s not all the band has contributed to the show. Sigur Ros has also covered “The Rains Of Castamere” and made the track available for free last night online. You can listen to it below.

So: major death, indie rock band cameo….geez, what you else you got coming for us this season, “Game Of Thrones”?
