4. “Glass” Presentation
In recent years, M. Night Shyamalan has been known more for his misses than his hits. That’s why it’s comforting to know that, when he finally scored another hit with 2016’s delightfully pulpy “Split,” the writer/director wanted to keep a good thing going. A sequel to both his last film and 2000’s cult classic “Unbreakable,” which some filmgoers consider to be the filmmaker’s last good film, “Glass” will reunite Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson as they reprise their famous roles as David Dunn and Elijah Prince, respectively, in the film that’s expected to expand on the recent-created Shyamalan Cinematic Universe. The new movie is shrouded in mystery, with details being fleeting at best. We have seen a couple of stills and an official poster, but the first footage has only been shown to a select few. That’ll change during this panel. Consider us hyped.

5. Lucasfilm
There’s hardly a day that goes by where “Star Wars” isn’t analyzed, re-analyzed, hyped up, inspected, debated or speculated about, in some fashion or another. Comic-Con is no exception. While there are no more “Star Wars” movies coming out for the remainder of the year (and since “Star Wars Episode IX” is still gearing up for production, we should expect any footage from that one…), the galaxy far, far away is returning to television with “Star Wars: Resistance,” a new animated series that’ll continue to explore the franchise’s wealth of planets and intergalactic personalities. It’s not confirmed whether or not ‘Resistance’ will premiere anything official at this year’s Comic-Con, but there’s a good chance that we’ll see or hear something about it during this year’s 10th anniversary celebration for “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” which takes places on Thursday, July 19th. Executive producer Dave Filoni is in attendance, as is producer Athena Portillo, composer Kevin Kiner and voice actors Ashley Eckstein and Matt Lante. But since Filoni also serves as the series creator on “Star Wars: Resistance,” which is expected to make its television premiere later this fall, we wouldn’t rule out the possibility of the team presenting the show’s first footage. Nothing is confirmed at the moment; this is all speculation. But don’t rule it out.

6. “Godzilla,” “Fantastic Beasts 2” & More Warner Bros.
Beyond their various DC productions, Warner Bros. has a slew of promising and forthcoming titles they’re looking to promote during this year’s Comic-Con. The most notable one being “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” the sequel to Gareth Edwards’ divisive reboot, which sees Michael Doughtery (“Krampus”) taking on the directorial reins. The presentation will provide hungry viewers with our first footage from the new kaiju flick, which has been teased recently by Entertainment Weekly’s new stills, and if there’s an audience that is going to eat up Godzilla’s newest reign of terror before he comes face-to-face with his big baddie foe, King Kong, it’s Comic-Con.
Additionally, we’re going to see more from “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald,” as well as “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.” We have seen a trailer or two from each, but with their release dates approaching, we should expect WB to dish out a few clips and trailers for the attentive crowd. Additionally, Comic-Con will host the official premiere of “Titan Titans Go! To the Movies” in anticipation of its release later this month. Since Marvel and Disney are (generally) taking a step back from this year’s festivities, it’s WB’s time now.
7. Women Who Kick Ass/The Future of Film is Female
The future is female, especially in film, and Comic-Con knows it. That’s why they have two awesome panels planned that should hopefully garner a great deal of attention the first is “The Future of Film is Female,” which takes place on Friday, July 20th. In the symposium, directors Susanna Fogel (“The Spy Who Dumped Me”) and Jennifer Yuh Nelson (“The Darkest Mind”) and writer Christina Hodson (“Bumblebee,” “Batgirl”) will talk about making movies as female filmmakers, and they will provide attendees with a glimpse into their upcoming new movies.
Additionally, actresses Chloe Bennet (“Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Regina King (“Watchmen”), Amanda Stenberg (“The Darkest Mind”), Camila Mendes (“Riverdale”) and Jodie Whittaker (“Doctor Who”) will take part in Entertainment Weekly’s Women Who Kick Ass panel on Saturday, July 21st, where they’ll talk about “the power and privilege of playing women who redefine the rules and refuse to yield.” Definitely sounds kick-ass.
