Discover The Anger & Fear In First Trailer For 'Borg vs McEnroe' Starring Shia LaBeouf

Fans of vintage tennis rivalries are going to be excited by some big-screen movies making their way to theaters. We’ve already gotten a trailer for Emma Stone and Steve Carell‘s “Battle Of The Sexes,” which dramatizes the showdown between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs, and now comes our first look at “Borg vs McEnroe,” which will relive the epic showdown between two tennis titans.

Sverrir Gudnason and Shia LaBeouf take the title roles in the Janus Metz Pedersen (“Armadillo“)-directed film, which looks to be a pretty intense look at one of the greatest on-court displays in tennis history. Here’s the official synopsis:

Borg vs McEnroe is a film about one of the world’s greatest icons Björn Borg and his biggest rival, the young and talented John McEnroe and their legendary duel during the 1980’s Wimbledon tournament. It’s a story about two men that became legends and the price they had to pay.

There’s no U.S. distributor for the picture yet, and I assume it’ll show up on the fall festival circuit, but “Borg vs McEnroe” is slated to open overseas in September.
